Oranges are one of my favourite all year round fruits. They are packed full of juicy goodness. Oranges make a great snack on their own or you can juice them, add them into salads, make orange cake etc.

Benefits of Oranges:

Packed full of vitamin C - this powerful antioxidant helps to fight off free radicals which can damage cells. Vitamin C is also great for boosting the immune system….perfect during cold/flu season. This amazing vitamin also helps with collagen production to keep your skin looking youthful.

Contains potassium - a mineral which can regulate blood pressure and help with maintain normal heart function.

Source of beta-carotene - which converts to vitamin A in the body to help strengthen vision and promote healthy glowing skin.

Good source of fibre - oranges contain dietary fibre which helps with healthy bowel motions.

Mulled Orange Juice:

3 Oranges

2-3 Star anise seeds

Fresh ginger

Cinnamon powder (half a teaspoon)

Filtered water

Juice the oranges and place into a saucepan with approx: 50mls of filtered water. Cook on low heat. Add in the star anise seeds, cinnamon powder and grated ginger. I also grated some orange rind into the mix and put some of the orange flesh in too!

Gently bring the mixture to boil then let it simmer. Remove from heat and drink while still warm :-)

*Try to buy organic fruit and vegetables where possible so your body doesn’t have to fight through the chemicals to get to the good stuff  :-)
